Feast Day at Twi Ninwitz

UPDATE: On April 7th we visited the community of Twi Ninwitz, San Juan Ostuncalco. Together men, women, teachers and kids made a Mayan Ceremony and a feast because our dreams came true.

Thanks to the support of Vale UMC, our sister organization AMA and the effort of the community we were able to build two more classrooms for the kids, to improve their education, health and empowerment. Now they have already five classrooms where they can receive classes in a safer and cleaner way.

All this wouldn't be possible without the leaders of the community of Twi Ninwitz, Don Marcos Gómez and his wife Doña Maria Gómez, Don Silverio Carroto and Doña Nicolasa López, they took over the logistics and the community participation for this to happen.

We were part of a Maya Ceremony and a delicious lunch to thank God for this enormous step in the construction of this beautiful school, being proud and being thankful because this means a path to improvement in the community.

All the kids and teachers are really happy for this school! And are excited to keep working with AMA and HSP in the Maya Art Programs, in the upcoming years.

It is really nice to receive classes with the sunlight coming through the big windows.
